Moving Checklist

Moving is far less stressful when the work is spread across a timeline instead of crammed into the final week. This checklist groups tasks into six stages, counting down to the move and then wrapping up after it, so the right things happen at the right time.

1. Start early: Open the 8 weeks before stage first. The tasks up front — quotes, notice, sorting — are the ones people most often leave too late.
2. Work stage by stage: Expand a stage to see its tasks. Each one has a checkbox; tick it off once the task is handled and it lines through.
3. Watch your progress: Each stage shows its own mini progress bar, and the bar at the top tracks your overall percentage across every stage.
4. Customize freely: Every move is different. Add your own tasks to any stage, or remove the ones that do not apply to you.

Why a timeline matters

Notice periods, mail redirection, utility transfers, and school records all have lead times measured in weeks, not days. Grouping tasks by how far out they need to happen means nothing important gets discovered at the last minute, and moving day itself stays focused on the physical move.

Where your data lives

Your checked tasks and any custom items are stored entirely on your device using the browser's localStorage; nothing is uploaded to a server and no account is needed. Progress persists between visits on the same browser. Use Reset to start over, which clears all progress and restores the default task list.
